An egg breakfast at Arlis’s Cafe, Bellingham WA

bowl
inside a
bowl
inside a
bowl

collects the flicks of dishwater
shot by the sinks stiff brush
scrub hard at a plate of
Tuesdays dried oatmeal
and today’s just-burnt eggs
